![]() I perfect destruction engine would have to be one that could know several different materials will react differently depending on what hits it, so if you shot a bullet at the wall it will leave a small hole, but if you shot a rocket launcher at it, it would take a chunk out of that bit of the wall, but in terms of, lets say, a skyscraper in GTA V, this damage would be minuscule and barely effect the building as a whole.Īnother problem would be the attention to detail a developer would have to do, to make the whole destruction experience pay off, for a skyscraper to be destroyed then that would mean the whole building would have to be designed with the greatest of detail, sure, Rockstar North are some of the best when it comes to detail in a game, but they aren't inhuman, the whole skyscraper from top to bottom would have to be accessible and have stuff like offices, paintings on the wall, smash able windows, chairs, computers, pipes, phones, keyboards, mouse, tables, clocks, monitors and lots of other crap, and all of this would have to be rendered by the physics engine in real time and react against other debris flying through the air. ![]() ![]() The best bit about it is the way different materials react differently to the projectiles, although it isn't perfect. ![]()
